All of a sudden i saw sociology when.................. we took a class field trip to the count courthouse and prison. On this field trip we observed many court cases and watched some people in jail. The court cases were at varying severity from felony's to small claims court. We also toured the jail complex observing where the prisoners are held and what restrictions are placed on them throughout their stay.
I observed sociology when the we went to the court i thought of control theory because everyone is being controlled by someone else. The prisoners are being accounted for the actions and decisions they have made. They must report back to the judge at the end of their sentence to ensure they have been rehabilitated. In this process the judge has most of the power which has been given to them by the government. This in turn would exemplify control theory because the prisoners are controlled by the judge.
